Appeals Policy
Adelaide Real Estate Academy recognises prior learning and qualifications by granting credit for relevant units you have already completed.
Need something else?
What is Credit?
Credit means you don’t have to repeat units you have already successfully completed in previous study.
This applies where you can provide:
- AQF certification documents (e.g. certificate or statement of attainment)
- Official VET transcripts (e.g. USI transcript)
Our Commitment
We will:
- Offer all students the opportunity to apply for credit
- Ensure you are not required to repeat equivalent units
- Assess applications fairly and consistently
- Verify all documents for authenticity
- Provide outcomes in writing
How to Apply for Credit
- Complete a Credit Application Form
- Provide certified copies of your transcripts or certificates
- Submit your application during or after enrolment
What Happens Next?
Your application will be:
- Reviewed for relevance to your current course
- Verified with the issuing organisation or via your USI transcript
- Assessed to determine:
- Direct unit matches (same code/title)
- Equivalent units (similar content and outcomes)
Possible Outcomes
You will receive a written outcome, which may include:
Credit Granted
- You won’t need to complete those units
Partial Credit
- Some units are granted based on equivalence
Credit Not Granted
- If units are not relevant or cannot be verified
Important Notes
- You may be asked for additional information if documents cannot be verified
- Applications may be declined if documents are not authentic
- Credit may result in a reduced course duration and/or fees (if applicable)
- All approved credit is recorded in your student record
Not Happy with the Outcome?
You can appeal the decision through the Complaints & Appeals process.
Continuous Improvement
We review our credit processes regularly to ensure fairness, accuracy, and compliance.
