What is Academic Misconduct?
Academic misconduct includes:
- Plagiarism – copying or using someone else’s work without acknowledgement
- Cheating – submitting work that is not your own
- Collusion – working with others inappropriately or sharing answers
Your Responsibilities
You must:
- Submit your own original work
- Use your own words
- Properly reference any sources
- Not share your work with other students
- Not copy from the internet, textbooks, or others
Collaboration – What’s Allowed?
You may:
- Discuss assessment tasks with other students
- Share ideas to support learning
You must NOT:
- Share completed answers
- Copy or compare responses
- Complete work for another student
What Happens if Misconduct is Suspected?
- Your trainer/assessor will review the issue
- It will be reported to the Training Manager
- You will be contacted and asked to respond
- You may be required to explain your work
Possible Outcomes
Depending on the situation, you may be required to:
- Resubmit your assessment
- Complete an alternative assessment
- Attend a disciplinary meeting
⚠ Repeated or serious misconduct may result in:
- Special assessment conditions
Suspension or withdrawal from the course
General Misconduct (Behaviour)
Unacceptable behaviour (e.g. breaches of the Student Code of Conduct) may result in:
- Disciplinary meetings
- Formal warnings
- Escalation to the CEO
- Possible removal from the course
Important Notes
- All cases are taken seriously and investigated fairly
- Records of misconduct are kept on your student file
- You will be notified in writing of any decisions
