Adelaide Real Estate Academy offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to help you gain credit for skills and knowledge you already have.

What is RPL?
RPL allows you to have your existing skills and experience assessed instead of completing training for those units.
This can include:
- Formal learning (e.g. qualifications, certificates)
- Non-formal learning (e.g. workplace training)
- Informal learning (e.g. work or life experience)
Our Commitment
We will:
- Offer RPL to all students at enrolment
- Provide clear guidance throughout the process
- Assess evidence fairly and consistently
- Use qualified assessors
- Ensure decisions are based on valid, sufficient, current, and authentic evidence
- Provide outcomes in writing
How to Apply for RPL
- Discuss RPL Options
- Speak with our team about your experience and suitability
- Complete Self-Assessment
- Review your skills against course requirements
- Submit your:
- Self-assessment
- RPL application form
What Happens Next?
Application Review
- An assessor will review your application and contact you to discuss:
- Your work experience
- Your submitted evidence
- You will be advised if you are suitable to proceed
RPL Assessment Process
If approved:
- Complete the RPL Evidence Tool
- Provide supporting evidence
- Participate in:
- Interview and/or questioning
- Workplace observation (if required)
- Third-party verification (e.g. supervisor report)
Possible Outcomes
Competent (RPL Granted)
- You receive credit for the unit(s)
Not Yet Competent
- You may need to complete gap training
You will receive your result in writing
Important Notes
- RPL is different from Credit Transfer
- Evidence must be authentic, current, and relevant
- Additional evidence or clarification may be requested
- All RPL records are securely stored
